Welcome to my blog, where I share highlights of everything from my client's wedding days and portrait sessions, to recent features and our adventures around the world.

Hi, I'm Alicia.

Best of 2015 | Rings

Feb 2, 2016

I love kicking off February’s “Best Of” series with rings! Rings are absolutely my favorite tangible item to photograph on a wedding day because there is no right or wrong way to shoot them! Think about it — a wedding dress? You need to have a full shot of the whole dress and then capture the details that make it unique. A bouquet? Again, the full bouquet, the cool handle design, and then close ups on any stand out flowers that were included. I could go on and on. But rings you have so much freedom; you can pair them with flowers or with invite. You make them pop against a white wedding dress or stand them alone between a brides shoes. And you can certainly place them on the nose of a sweet pup if they will oblige you!

Rings, while obviously being beautiful sparkly eye candy that we all love, are also so much more. They are truly what kicks off this whole wedding thing; from the moment a person realizes they have found the one, they begin searching for the perfect token that proves this promise. And then after they say “I do”, solidifying their decision to spend the rest of their lives together, more rings are exchanged to further this promise. They are the beginning and the end. They are our daily reminder of our vows. They are that one heirloom that gets passed through generations of women; from one family to the next.

So I just wanted to take a day on the blog to reflect on the beauty of my bride and groom’s stunning rings; not just for their obvious attractiveness, but for the meaning that they carry through the rest of our lives. Perhaps my favorite thing of all, is how unique each diamond is to each bride.
