Barn at Walnut Grove Wedding

I was so excited to be the wedding photographer for Miranda & Tyler’s big day at The Barn at Walnut Grove outside of Harrisonburg, VA this past weekend. Being a Washington, D.C. wedding photographer, it isn’t very often that I get to go shoot in the area where I went to college. On the drive down the Blue Ridge Mountains, that all too familiar rush of excitement returned that I remembered from my days as a student at JMU — except this time instead of celebrating the return to school, we were celebrating the biggest day Miranda & Tyler’s life together! If you’ve ever visited the Harrisonburg area, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about when I say that it’s one of the most beautiful areas in Virginia. The mountains served as the perfect backdrop for their sun filled ceremony where friends and family from all over gathered to watch their union. We were also blessed to have one of those perfect summer days, with a cooling breeze blowing through the valley and barely a cloud in the sky. Before dinner, a traditional Chinese tea ceremony took place to officially welcome Tyler into Miranda’s family and was followed by a night full of incredible dance moves! They also had such a wonderful group of friends and family attending the wedding from all over the country. You can truly see how happy everyone is to be there to celebrate these two as they merged their families together. Miranda & Tyler, thank you for inviting me into your family for the day — it was an honor and I wish you both nothing but a lifetime of happiness!
