It’s no secret that Rob and I love to travel! We try to visit at least one new-to-us place each year, whether that is in the US or not, so that we are constantly having unique experiences. It brings such joy to our lives to have the opportunity to explore and I love being able to take pictures along the way to document our travels! Recently I’ve been leaving my digital camera at home and just bring film so that I can slow down and really focus on what I am capturing. It’s easy to take photo after photo when you are in a new place because it’s all just so beautiful and there is so much to take in! But shooting film is expensive (nearly $3-5 per image!) so I try to limit my shots to just “the best” and it’s a good way to stay present in the moment. 

This year we spent two weeks in New Zealand (Part 1 and Part 2 if you missed it!) but wanted to do a smaller trip in the US. We landed on Asheville because it was close enough that we could drive which meant Granger could join us as well! Turns out, Asheville is one of the most dog-friendly cities we’ve ever been to; they had a dog welcome center, dog bakeries, and treats available in so many stores that she basically expected it by the time we left. It was so nice to not have to worry about leaving her in our hotel room during our outings and dinners as she was welcome nearly everywhere!

Our visit to the Biltmore was one of the highlights of our trip. The inside of the estate was as incredible as the outside and we could’ve spent all day wandering their perfectly hedged gardens. As a bonus, they have a free kennel for dogs to stay while you go inside as they can then join you everywhere else!

We also made sure to head up to the Blue Ridge Parkway for some epic views and beautiful hikes — it definitely did not disappoint!

And, as usual, we ate entirely too much food! Some of our favorites were French Broad Chocolate Cafe (hello, drinking chocolate!), 12 Bones BBQ, and Biscuit Head for breakfast!
