At this point in my career, having photographed hundreds of weddings as a Washington, DC wedding photographer, I can honestly say there aren’t too many things that make me nervous any more. I’ve pretty much encountered it all at this point and feel like I can handle anything that comes my way — unusual family situations, drunk guests at the reception, or managing transportation around DC — you name it, I’ve got it!
The one thing that still gives me just a tinge of butterflies the night before a wedding is when I’m photographing another photographer. Not for any reason in particular, especially in this case, as Emily and Brian are two of the least intimidating people you could meet — in a good way! They are so kind and warm that you immediately feel welcomed in the presence. But I put more pressure on myself when doing this for someone who ALSO photographs wedding for a living because they are more likely to know the ins and outs of exactly what we are doing. All those fears, however, vanished the second I saw Emily’s smile in her bridal suite at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club Inn! She already looked absolutely radiant, courtesy of the amazing Behind The Veil Beauty who had just wrapped up her hair and makeup and she was ready for the big day!
Knowing how much Emily clearly values photography made me even more excited about finding her wedding a good “home” on a publication where other brides and grooms could be inspired by their day. My Eastern Shore Wedding was my first thought as they planned a very chic, coastal inspired affair, so you can imagine my delight when they agreed it would be a good fit! The post just went live this week, so be sure to head over HERE and check it out to see the full day at the gorgeous Chesapeake Bay Beach Club in Stevensville, MD!
