When I was photographed Beth and Bryan’s gorgeous wedding at The Tides Inn this past June, I already knew I wanted to submit it to Tidewater and Tulle as I thought it would be a perfect fit for their typical aesthetic and region. This can be both a good and bad thing!! When the details of a wedding so clearly fit with a specific blog, you get excited to think about having the privilege of showcasing the hard work of your couple through that platform. But, it can also set up your expectations for disappointment as nothing is guaranteed. Blogs, often times, get hundreds or even thousands of submissions per week and obviously cannot accept everything. As you’re preparing your submission, you never know if they have recently accepted a very similar wedding and since their goal is to feature a variety of inspiration for future brides, they don’t want to constantly be posting the same thing! All of this to say, you can imagine my delight when their editor agreed it was a good fit and scheduled this wedding on their calendar! 

I think being featured is such an honor, not just for me, but for my couples. They are the ones who pour their heart and soul into making this day a reality and I just get to take the pretty pictures of their hard work! Knowing how much time and energy goes into their wedding, I love to keep the feature a surprise for them until it goes live. Often, after the big day is over and their pictures have been delivered, there is a lull of “what do we focus on now!?”; so I feel like getting one extra reminder on a feature goes such a long way!
