It’s no secret that weddings over the past year have been… different… to say the least. So many couples have had to make changes to their original plans in the form of a new date, new venue, small guest list, or some combination of all three! Maggie and Andy were set to be married last December at the Cosmos Club in Washington, DC. They initially pushed the wedding off exactly a year, to this December, so they could celebrate in the same fashion they had originally planned, just on a new date. Ultimately, they decided what would be best for the two of them, as well as all of their guests, would be to have a smaller, more intimate celebration with just their immediate families. They were married in a DC War Memorial wedding where Maggie entered from a gorgeous cream-colored Rolls Royce.
With all of their guests aware of the date change, the bride’s sister wanted to find a way to allow everyone to cheers the new couple from afar. One of my favorite ways they did this was to create a video of everyone sending in their love and heartfelt wishes for the newlywed couple! Maggie and Andy had no idea that this was planned and were absolutely delighted to watch it during their private reception in the comfort of Maggie’s childhood home.
After the wedding, I was able to assist Maggie and Andy in creating a stunning heirloom album that documented their day in printed form. We included photos from above-said video, as well as the rest of the celebration, and I like to think of guests visiting them in the future and getting to relive the day with them from beginning to end — while they may have not been able to attend in person, enjoying the album might just be the next best thing!
This is a professionally handmade, layflat album in Arabian Blue silk.
