There is nothing I love more about being a Washington, DC anniversary photographer than just being able to chat with a fellow married couple during our shoot and get to know a little bit about their every day lives. For Rachel and Alex, that often looks something like Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Italy, Hawaii or Colombia. Yep, those are just a few of the places they have visited in the past three years since getting married in Fairfax Station, VA. Rachel was born in Venezuela and Alex in Hawaii, so it’s clear that a love of travel was instilled in them both at a very early age. They both agreed that they wanted to take some time after their wedding to explore the world with just each other, which, I can absolutely relate to as that’s what Rob and I have been doing for the past five years!
Despite growing up only a few miles from one another and attending the same college, they didn’t meet until a few years later. Alex is a teacher in Fairfax County, but enjoys coaching the football team after work. It was during practice one day when he noticed a beautiful new cheerleading coach, Rachel, and had to introduce himself. As these two are celebrating three years of marriage, the rest is clearly history! They are now the proud parents of two adorable fur babies and love spending the weekends at wineries and re-watching their favorite TV shows like Lost (best.show.ever!). Oh and as you’ll see below, these two have amazing style; I just might have squealed a bit when Rachel sent me a sneak peek of their outfits!
Rachel and Alex, thank you for a wonderful sunrise session at the Lincoln Memorial – I still can’t believe how many near-photobomb experiences we had with all those runners!! I hope you’re both enjoying your next adventure in Cancun!
