Tides Inn Virginia Wedding

Beth and Bryan were married on a gorgeous summer weekend at The Tides Inn in Irvington, VA, a beautiful venue that boasts stunning waterfront views. Being primarily a Washington, DC wedding photographer, I don’t get to shoot on the water often, so when I do, I get extra excited! And for the first time this entire wedding season, there was absolutely no rain in sight – heck, there was barely even a cloud in the sky! It was truly the perfect day for an outdoor ceremony.

Another first for this wedding was getting to photograph Beth and Bryan! These two were sent to me by an amazing photographer, Caroline Winn, who went to college with these two! They wanted her to be able to celebrate with them instead of working on their wedding day and so, she made it her mission to find them someone who would be a good fit – I was the lucky choice! She previously gifted them with an engagement session, so instead, I just included an additional hour on their wedding day to give us extra portrait time since we would have more of a break-in period having not worked together before. Well, I couldn’t have been more wrong; Beth and Bryan definitely did not need a break-in period at all! Images from their first look alone could easily be mistaken for romantic portraits. Their deep connection and love for one another was immediately clear as I was able to give cue after cue without them missing a beat!

Given this amazing pairing of a beautiful, sunny day and a couple that could pose the heck out of some portraits, I think it’s an understatement to say I was especially excited for their sunset pictures. As the sun set over the docks, we raced down to chase the light and the result was so worth it!
