Thinking back, I can’t even remember the first time I met Ali. It seems like we have been a part of so many different photography groups, that it’s hard for me to nail down exactly which was the first one we attended together. The photography community is one of those rare gems where generally, photographs build each other up and support the growth of their “competition” rather than breaking each other down. I’ve been so lucky to meet some incredible women through these various groups, Ali being one of them. Shortly afterward, we also figured out we lived just minutes away! Being a full-time Washington, DC wedding photographer hasn’t allowed me to attend quite as regularly in the past year, so it was nice to have Ali over to catch up! She is the talented artist behind Ali McLaughlin Photography, but you can read a bit more about her below!
Name | Ali McLaughlin
…I always get complimented on my hair, but my favorite feature is actually my shoulders!
…I haven’t always been proud of my body, but I’m learning to embrace it.
…I feel most confident when I wake up in the morning, throw on some gym clothes, a little mascara, and get to working out. I love going to the gym and how strong I feel after a good work out.
The last time I felt truly beautiful was…
Actually during this session with Alicia! She makes you feel confident and beautiful! (Note from ALP: Ali, that’s because you ARE beautiful. I still want to know all your beauty secrets!)
What is something that has been a challenge for you over the past year?
Believing in myself and my business. I want to push past fears of not feeling like enough.
