Sarah and Mike were married this fall in a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Stone Tower Winery in Leesburg, VA. It’s lucky I waited to write this blog post until after the wedding, or I would’ve had to re-write that sentence two other times! See, third time was a charm for this sweet couple, whose wedding was originally scheduled for this past spring. Like so many others this year, the big day was ultimately delayed due to COVID concerns. They were able to move forward with the celebration this September and honestly? The day was nothing short of perfect! For what it’s worth, their May date was freezing and their August date was sweltering, so I think they made the right call all around!
It truly was such a lovely day that we were able to even enjoy their entire reception — dinner, events, and dancing — outdoors. Outdoor receptions are rare in the Washington, DC / Northern Virginia area due to the uncertainty with weather, so it was a treat to get to photograph a bit of the reception in natural light! And, as an added bonus, it made the entire atmosphere safer for their guests and attendees.
Sarah & Mike, thank you for continuing to keep me on board through all the changes — I know how much you two went through to get to this day and I hope it was everything you imagined it to be! It was such a joy to work with you and celebrate with your friends and family; I’ll be remembering this one for a long time! I know the new home might not be Thailand, but I bet Jackson is excited for the extra space!
