I remember browsing through Lauren’s pictures on Facebook (so 21st century, am I right!?) before our engagement session in Old Town Alexandria this September and thinking that she is one of those strikingly beautiful women that are intimidating when you first meet them. Perfect blonde hair, great style, and super talented (she has AMAZING aerial ribbon skills!). Not to mention she loves all things French (a woman after my own heart!). But then the moment you meet her, you realize she is incredibly sweet and down to earth — a girl who simultaneously loves Louboutin heels and Game of Thrones. And Peebles, her fiance, I was just so excited to finally meet; I’d mostly been working with Lauren up until that point and couldn’t wait to get to know her other half. Peebles, or Peebs, as he said I could call him, is equally as charming, making me laugh nearly the entire session. You could immediately tell these two were perfectly for one and their chemistry made for gorgeous images as you’ll see below. They were so sweet as we worked our way around the city, navigating around the King Street Art Festival that closed down over half the streets! I loved their shared enthusiasm whenever we stumbled upon a new location; usually I’m the one geeking out over pretty light or cute benches, but it was nice to have a couple to indulge in that with me (Peebles is actually a hobbiest photographer, having picked up some skills at his office job over the past few years after getting thrown on headshot duty!).

Lauren and Peebles, I am beyond excited for your wedding next June at the Country Club of Virginia — based on your amazing style at our engagement session, I can already tell that it’s going to be a beautiful day! You two promised me some dance moves and I’m going to hold you to it in just a few months!
