For what felt like an eternity, they had waited in anticipation of this day. Beth and Bryan had moved just moved to New York City after Beth graduated from law school and accepted an opportunity with a major firm. Though both in the northeast, it was a big change from Boston. They had always known they wanted to wait until they were settled to start thinking about marriage, although both admit if they were being honest it had always been on their minds. After spending the day taking countless treks up and down the stairs of their new, elevator-less apartment, they stepped out into the crisp air of April and walked towards Central Park for their first night under the stars in their new city. Beth remembers Bryan taking her by the hand as they crossed over the Bow Bridge and how they swayed together beneath the amphitheater. It was that same night that they decided to elope, in this very place that they stood. Hundreds away from family and the life that they knew, they had each other and that was all they needed. They were married only weeks later on a beautiful May morning under an arch of trees in this city they now called home.
Being primarily a Washington, DC wedding and anniversary photographer, I’ve always dreamed of shooting in New York City – but no place more than iconic Central Park. There was truly no backdrop more fitting for these timeless portraits, so thank you, Beth and Bryan, for allowing me to capture these for you!
