Candace is a woman after my own heart — and by that I mean a PLANNER! If you know me at all, you know I’m a. a Washington, DC wedding photographer and b. very type-A! I love all things labeled, organized, and planned far, far in advance (going with the flow seriously stresses me out!). So when she e-mailed me in the fall of 2015 about her and Andrew’s 2017 wedding, I wanted to send her a virtual high-five! 

They always loved the idea of a winery wedding and searched throughout Virginia to find the perfect spot. King Family Vineyard was one of her favorites, but they ended up loving Stone Tower Winery in Leesburg the best — which, simply meant that King Family would be the perfect spot for their engagement! We planned for the first day of November and were graced with tons of color throughout all the foliage on their grounds. Rain clouds loomed quietly overhead, but didn’t drop even once on our session.

Candace and Andrew met, like all good romances, in college. She attended Radford University, but lived in Blacksburg where Andrew attended the infamous Virginia Tech. It wasn’t always easy, as they had to manage their relationship long distance for many, many years. He headed to West Virginia for law school after graduation a year before Candace; and once she graduated, she ended up back north in Virginia while he studied for the bar in PA. They always seemed to find themselves states apart until this past year when she landed a job in PA as well! Candace, I have absolutely no doubt that your wedding is going to be planned to perfection over the next year and half — if your gorgeous engagement outfits were an indication, I can’t wait to see what you have in store for the big day!
