The John Marshall Ballrooms Wedding

I’m taking you guys allll the way back to January today for a beautiful winter wedding at the John Marshall Ballrooms in Richmond, VA. Looking back, I remember how cold it was taking these pictures; I also remember forgetting my coat inside during portraits, so that may have been a contributing factor. A little cold could not get this amazing couple down, though, and they handled their portraits without a single complaint (even as the poor Bride’s lips started to get a little blue!). The classic city background made for a wonderfully unique portrait session and I think the pictures truly convey how in love this couple is. The cold weather aside, this was such a fun wedding to shoot. The bride and groom’s families were so fantastic and you could tell how genuinely thrilled everyone was to be there to participate in this special day. Also, have you gotten a look at that dress? The word amazing comes to mind, but honestly I don’t know that that even really does it justice.

Getting back to my earlier point on the weather, like all things in life, it is so easy to long for what you don’t have — these sweltering months of summer having me dreaming of cooler temperatures, but as soon as they come, I know that I’ll want to just be warm again! But today? Today, I’m sitting by the pool, at one of my favorite beaches in the world, Hilton Head Island, with my parents and my husband and there is no where else I would rather be (my apologies for the humblebrag).
