When Becky first e-mailed me a first months ago inquiring about photography coverage for her and Will’s upcoming wedding, I love that she started right off the bat with a bit of information about the two of them! Don’t get me wrong, I totally understand when a couple just provides the basics for their initial inquiry — I’ll make you dive into the details just shortly after regardless ;) — but I truly love reading about how a couple got to this moment before “I do”.
These two, as Becky put it, were a real-life Tinderella story — they both swiped right on October 30th, 2015, which, by the way, was exactly THREE years ago to the day that we shot these photos! Despite their UVA/VA Tech rivalry (trust me, I know that all too well with an Eagles fan and a Redskins fan living under the same roof!), they are always finding themselves laughing with one another. Except around football and basketball season, of course ;)
In addition to sharing all about themselves, Becky ALSO mentioned that she loved reading my Bridal Business posts — talk about the way right into my heart! — and that she had bookmarked my page a while back for when she got engaged one day down the line. Bridal Business started — 5? — years ago now and it’s such a labor of love. I’ve learned so many unique tips and tricks over the years as a Washington, DC wedding photographer, and I love being able to pass those down to future couples. Not just my couples, either! Anyone who is reading here. So I thought that was really cool and it’s nice to know there are engaged couples reading my tidbits of wisdom!
These two were engaged this past April in Baltimore and it was a more challenging feat that Will originally planned! He had to work around inclement weather, locked docks, and TWO other proposals, but their private exchange over a slice of (forced) key lime pie sounds like things worked out absolutely perfect in my book. I’m certainly hoping these two share a slice of key lime in 2020 during their Stone Tower Winery wedding as an homage to that wonderfully fateful night!
