A few weeks ago, I headed to the Hendry House in Arlington, VA to capture Wendy & Mike’s wedding day with my sweet friend, Anna. It was, in a word, hot. I’m not just talking about a regular June day, I’m talking one of the hottest days of the entire month with such a heavy humidity you felt like you could barely breathe. If you’re from Washington, DC or anywhere on the east coast, you know exactly what I’m talking about. This is the kind of thing that happens when you live near a city that was literally built on top of a swamp! But Wendy and Mike were absolutely amazing through every single minute of their day. I didn’t hear them complain or stop for a break at any point in the day — they were just so excited about celebrating their love with family and friends from all over the country that it was almost as if they didn’t even notice. The guests felt the same way, you could see the happiness written all over their faces as Wendy walked down the aisle in her stunning dress. That happiness continued throughout the event as the guests danced the night away. Wendy and Mike, you guys handled the heat like such champs and I was so thrilled to have been able to capture your special day!
Enjoy some of my personal favorites from the day; the grounds of the Hendry House were so beautiful it looks as if the wedding took place in the English countryside. This place was such a gorgeous oasis that you’d be surprised to find out that we were in Arlington!
