Welcome to my blog, where I share highlights of everything from my client's wedding days and portrait sessions, to recent features and our adventures around the world.

Hi, I'm Alicia.

Four Years

May 21, 2015

Back in late 2011, I concocted this awesome (in my opinion) idea of doing an “anniversary shoot” for Rob and I’s first year of marriage in spring of 2012. To be honest, I truly had never heard of an anniversary session before; I wasn’t in the photography world then, so they may have already existed, but truth be told — I just bought a really cute dress at Anthropologie and wanted some pictures in it :) I had pretty much exhausted all other shoots I could think of: day after, trash the dress, and obviously we were past an engagement session, so this seemed like the perfect idea. I e-mailed my friend Ashley and she was totally on board and helped me prep over the next few months. It was, in a word, awesome. It brought me back to that place of giddy romance when we were newly engaged and excited about the big day ahead. I knew this was a tradition I wanted to continue, and so for the past 3 years, we’ve been so fortune to get in front of some the lens of some seriously incredible photographers.

Let me be clear… I’m totally not saying I invented the idea of anniversary session!! But they have definitely grown to be more popular in the last few years and are something I am very passionate about — I encourage all couples to rekindle that giddy emotion in front of the camera; it’s an awesome feeling!

So! I just wanted to share a few images from our past three anniversaries (you can view pictures from our wedding day in last year’s post here!). This year we are celebrating No. 4, and I could not be more excited as we are doing it in one of the most beautiful countries in the world, Austria, with the amazing Michael & Carina
