Mid-October, I left my roots of Washington, DC and headed up to Baltimore to spend the day photographing a beautiful wedding at the stunning Enoch Pratt Library in downtown. I started the day with Jack and his guys — watching college football, getting “iced”, and trying to remember why some thought a bow tie would be a good idea. I couldn’t help but laugh as the only groomsmen who knew how to actually tie one tried doing it on someone else (which is a whole different ball game!). We headed to the Washington Monument (yes, there is a Washington Monument in Baltimore — who knew?) where Jack would see his bride-to-be, Melissa, for the first time. We hid the wedding party away and Melissa gracefully walked down the stairs and tapped Jack on the shoulder. From that first embrace, I knew it was going to be a special day. As the wedding party later joined us and we walked around the city taking photos, I remember one of the bridesmaids saying how they felt like celebrities because so many people were taking their picture! To me, there is nothing better than a city wedding, but be warned: I won’t be the only one stopping you for more pictures :) It will feel like a mini-paparazzi is following you!
The rest of the evening took place at the Enoch Pratt Library; it felt very fitting to be surrounded by all the great love stories while watching this new one unfold. They danced the night away with music from their live band and even made a surprise appearance on the fifth floor of the library, overlooking their guests! Please be sure to enjoy some of my favorites from Jack & Melissa’s beautiful black-tie wedding!
