Elegant Equestrian Wedding Inspiration in Historic Virginia

I’m so excited to share this stunning equestrian wedding editorial captured at the historic venue of Salubria in the countryside of Virginia.

I didn’t grow up around horses, but have always thought they would be such a beautiful addition to a wedding day. After all, so many couples have their pets by their side, so why not include an equine friend!? After seeing more of this shoot below, I think you’ll agree that a horse makes a lovely wedding day companion.

The bride and groom were accompanied by not one, but two stunning white horses named Blitzen & Charlie. The horses were transported and handled by the Central VA Horse Rescue; both beauties had been rescued by this wonderful organization. The rescue wanted to participate in the shoot in hopes of getting some publicity for Blitzen and Charlie so that they could be adopted onto a loving farm. They were the perfect “models” and I can see how they will quickly get scooped up!

Salubria was the perfect venue to host this shoot as it’s surrounded by breath taking views, rolling hills, and horse farms on every side. The shoot began underneath a grey and cloudy spring afternoon. It was that wonderful time of year where trees are beginning to blossom and the grass is finally getting green after a long winter. There was a brief appearance from the sun which made for some stunning sunset photos at the end of our shoot.
