I believe that February is the perfect month for reflection. The hustle and bustle of returning to normal life after the holidays consumes most January and it takes a few weeks until we have a moment to breathe. Which is why it’s always bittersweet posting the last post of my “Best Of” series. On one hand, it means we are completely wrapping up an absolutely incredible season. 2015 was GREAT to me and I don’t want to say goodbye to those amazing relationships I built with my wonderful clients. They will always be ALP Brides and Grooms, they are just now alumni! But on the other hand, it means we are about to kick of another awesome season. 2016 is going to bring some downright blow-your-mind couples that I can’t wait to introduce you to and to share their visions they built over the past 12+ months of planning. Each one is so unique and fun that I know they are going to exceed all my expectations. We start off at Top of the Town in March and go all the way through December for a classic Washington, DC wedding at The Willard Hotel.
So for now, I just want to recap all the amazing couples I got to work with in 2015 through their beautiful portraits. I think it goes without saying that I love weddings; I love seeing the day unfold and I love getting to be there for all the special moments. But my favorite part of the day is having a moment alone with just my bride and groom. It’s a chance for them to slow down and actually process what is about to or has already unfolded. A chance to enjoy the company of one another, without any interruptions or distractions. Wedding days absolutely go as fast as they say they do. Portrait time is a chance to get back to basics — we’ve already done this at your engagement session, so by your wedding day it’s old hat.
