As I help all my brides my their wedding day timeline, I always make sure to ask for two things (well, in addition to loads of portrait time!) – time to shoot their personal details and their reception details. I think a lot of brides focus on getting some of the big vendors booked first – their venue, photographer, caterer, etc. That happens in a whirlwind during the first few months of being engaged and then you realize you have all this time until the big day. And what do you do with it? Obsess about what your details are going to look like! You search for the perfect pair of heels to complement your lace dress; the one invitation suite that sets your apart from the rest; a cake that looks as good as it tastes.

And sometimes, come your wedding day, it goes by in such a flash that you never even really got to see the cake before it was cut or didn’t get to walk around to all the tables to see your carefully selected centerpieces. Of course, as the photographer, this is always in the forefront of my mind and hence, why I love going a little detail crazy. Here are some of my favorite details of 2014!
