I think it goes without saying that I love weddings — I’ve tried my hand at pretty much every type of photography at this point and weddings won by a landslide. There is nothing better than getting to celebrate the best day of someone’s life with them. I still get nervous when I think about how much weight is on my shoulders — at the end of the day, besides your beautiful marriage, what you have left are your pictures! So I take all that very seriously, but am also so, so lucky to love what I do. Another thing I love about living in the Washington DC area is the fact that there are so many opportunities to shoot unique weddings. This wedding definitely qualified and had the added bonus of combining two things I love: brunch and amazing details!
So when Megan told me I was going to capturing a brunch wedding with her, my heart pretty much fluttered. Brunch. Wedding. Soak that in for a second. I mean seriously, is there a better meal than brunch? I think we all know the answer to that! This was such an amazing opportunity and I was thrilled to have been able to capture the unique details of this beautiful wedding. The bride, Lisa, made every detail absolutely perfect for the occasion, including name cards that were in donut holes! We were blessed with a beautiful spring day during the rare, elusive season of blossoming tulips! We fought the bright sun, but I think once you check out the pictures that you’ll agree we won this round :)
