I cannot stress enough the important of giving your photographer tons of details to capture on your wedding day! They make such a huge difference in your photography and truly help create a cohesive feel in your images; from beginning to end, the little details tie everything together! Invites, in particular, are one of my favorite things to photograph. Each suite is custom tailored to the couple and their wedding day; like a finger print, no two are alike (well, that I’ve ever seen anyway!). Invitations are the first impression that your guests receive — they set the tone for what the day will look like by revealing your colors and your level of formality all in one tiny envelope.
I had the pleasure of photographing some various hand crafted invitations for my sweet Washington, DC based friend Jenna at The Littlest Paperie. Check out not only how stunning and creative this little lady is, but also how unique and different every set looks from the next!
The invites below were designed for a destination wedding! I love how she included the map a subtle nod to travel.
This sweet couple LOVES the movies and created an invite that incorporated that about them — a movie ticket! How unique is this two-sided invite? As a note, whenever you are working with something that is printed on both sides, try to grab two extra copies so your Washington, DC wedding photographer can capture them together!
This fall wedding wanted to design an invite that boasted the neutral tones of the season. I love this rich, chocolate envelope that Jenna used to complement the cream paper goods. The white calligraphy pops off the front!
I love the pop of color in this suite brought by the yellow envelope! And those striped liners are to die for!
Isn’t this just the sweetest design? Those watercolor flowers are so unique and detailed that they practically leap off the page.
You truly could not receive this suite in the mail without knowing that FUN wedding day is in store!
Something about an invitation suite that incorporates gold somewhere in the design exudes elegance to me and this one is certainly no exception!
How beautiful is this classic black-tie invitation suite accented with a gold envelope!?
I love a classic “pocket” invitation suite as they have so many moving parts! Since there is so much involved, I love the less is more look here as to not take away from the design.
