Jasmine and Chris’ engagement session at the Washington National Cathedral began in what can only be explained as a comedy of errors. Jasmine had just arrived home late the evening before from a trip with her sister. She had professional hair and makeup schedule with the amazing Carla Presley, so it called for an even earlier wake up time for their sunrise engagement.
Suddenly, Jasmine & Chris were awoken suddenly by the alarms going off in their building. They hadn’t needed to evacuate, but after a short while the backup generators went out. Jasmine found herself having her makeup done in the dark by only the light of an iPhone. That being said, she looked absolutely flawless, which is a testament to hiring a seasoned professional like Carla!
Luckily, once they arrived to the Cathedral, the rest of the session was very low key. The morning temperature was simply perfect — albeit, a tiny bit windy — but I think it only made things more romantic. We had the entire gardens to ourselves (except for the adorable trio of Huskies that said hello!) and the light was hitting so lovely from every angle.
Their love story, however, began in a much calmer fashion. Jasmine & Chris were set up on a blind date by mutual friends who provided them with erroneous biographies of one another. Throughout the evening at Barcelona Wine Bar, they quickly realized that they had a ton of interests and hobbies in common. They hit it off immediately and have been together ever since!
I’m so excited to reunite with Jasmine and Chris next fall for their Hay Adams wedding in Washington, DC. I’ll be working alongside the fantastic Jessica Hennessey Weddings, so I know it’s going to be a great day.
Enjoy a peek into their sunrise engagement session at the National Cathedral!
