Once my couples are officially booked for their wedding day, we get right into planning their engagement session. After a location is selected, I give them all sorts of advice on how to plan for the session and what to wear. One of my favorite tips to share with brides-to-be is that Rent the Runway is a great resource for beautiful dresses! You can rent gorgeous gowns at a mere fraction of their rack price and then just return it when you’re done – just like that, you have a brand new look at an affordable price!
Well, the same thing can be done for your wedding day! No, I’m not recommending renting a wedding dress, but your decor! Think about it – you’ve got this gorgeous venue selected but are looking for a way to set it apart from the other hundreds of couples who have been married there. Furniture rentals are an inexpensive way to completely transform any space! I think there is a common misconception that these pieces are so stunning that they much cost a small fortune; I promise, there are so many options available that there is something at every price point. And they know how many times they can re-use each piece (I mean, up to 1-2/weekend if the demand was there!) that they are able to keep the costs more than manageable.
As I mentioned above, rental companies offer so much more than just beautiful furniture. Sure, they have some incredible vintage couches, chairs, and tables, but they also offer small tabletop items like unique flatware and glasses, lighting, and even cars! From the standpoint of a Washington, DC wedding photographer, rentals can provide a beautiful backdrop during your ceremony, a fun way to display your reception details, or even an object to take advantage of during your couples portraits!
I truly cannot recommend looking into rentals as a way to spruce up your wedding day. And of course, I couldn’t share this post without leaving you some companies that can provide gorgeous options!
