In all my years of being a Washington, DC wedding photographer, I’ve never photographed on Capitol Hill until just this past September. Even then, the shoot was split between two locations and I didn’t get to fully explore all the beautiful backdrops that the area had to offer. Enter, Margot and Brian. Margot actually works on the Hill and thought it would be the perfect spot for their engagement shoot; I couldn’t have agreed faster! We started at the iconic Capitol itself before hopping from one location to the next, actually ending our session inside the Library of Congress! I’m always so grateful for couples who are up to do a little exploring with me, so thank you, Margot and Brian!
These two initially met online and had the perfect first date getting to know one another over dinner. Their relationship took off quickly and this past summer, Brian found himself ready to propose to Margot. The plan was set: he would take her to the Arboretum where he would pop the question on a small bridge he previously scoped out. They got to the bridge and as he slowly pulled the ring from his pocket, Margot’s arm started flailing around like crazy. He quickly realized she was shooing away a bee, oblivious as to what was about to happen. While the bridge was off, the overall plan remained the same and just moments later, he found a backup location. As they say… the rest is history!
These two are getting married next October at the historic Hotel Monaco in Washington, DC. I’m an October baby and seeing as it is, by far, the busiest month of the year for weddings, I knew sooner or later my birthday would fall on a Saturday. Well, 2017 is that year and I had been looking forward to meeting just the right couple to celebrate with. Margot and Brian, I truly couldn’t think of anywhere else I’d rather be next year than with the two of you! I’m so happy we got connected and cannot wait for the big day!
