I love to have the opportunity once a year to do a session for no other reason than to get my creative juices flowing. It goes without saying that I adore my couples more than anything, but after hundreds of session and weddings, there will always be the pressure to ensure I am providing them no less than a perfect experience. After all, that’s exactly how it should be! I always want those butterflies to be there to know that I’m still “in” it. But it’s also nice to step away from that for a moment to enjoy shooting just to shoot. That’s exactly how this session came about and I couldn’t have been more pleased with how it turned out.
Long story short, I had been dying to photograph a bride and groom at the iconic Jefferson Memorial. I had previously photographed couples at all of the other major monuments but this one always evaded me for some reason so I took matters into my own hands and put out a “model call”. I was completely humbled by how many people responded and was ecstatic to be connected to this sweet couple, Kaylie & TJ. These two were not only the perfect candidates, but truly deserved a “makeup” session in their wedding clothes as they experienced some of those infamous October hurricane storms on their wedding day last year. It was such an honor to be able to gift them with additional images in their wedding clothes and we couldn’t have had a more perfect morning for their session at the Jefferson. The last of the cherry blossoms even lingered around long enough for us to grab a few photos with them as well!
I don’t want to spoil the whole thing, so please head over directly to United With Love to read all about the lovely couple and see more of their beautiful feature HERE!
