This summer, I had the privilege of shooting a gorgeous sunrise anniversary photo session with Rachel and Alex at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC. Rachel’s soft pink tulle skirt blew perfectly in the gentle breeze as Alex slowly laced his fingers in between hers to walk up the stairs. The light that morning was absolutely perfect – there was not a cloud in the sky as the sun beamed in through the columns of this iconic venue.

There is nothing I love more than taking the time to chat with a fellow married couple about their every day lives. Every relationship is so different that I feel you can a find way to grow your own just by listening. For Rachel and Alex, they knew from the moment they got engaged that after they said “I do,” they wanted to take a few years alone to strengthen their own bond and just enjoy being married. The past three years of their marital bliss has been spent in Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, Italy, Hawaii, and Colombia — just a few of the places they’ve explored together. It’s clear that when these two are ready to expand their family, they will be the strongest version of themselves.
