Two Pairs of Wedding Shoes

Aug 2, 2016

Let’s talk one of women’s most favorite things — shoes; that shouldn’t be too hard, am I right? Because if you’re anything like me, the more, the merrier, which is why today’s topic is one that is near and dear to my heart!

Wedding heels are an essential part of your wedding day look; whether you love classic white heels a la Kate Spade or a more modern pop of color found on Louboutins or Jimmy Choos, they are truly the final touch to the perfect outfit. The instant you step into them on your wedding day, you feel confident and invincible. And your wedding photographer will love them too because they photograph beautifully! But let’s be realistic, unless you’re Carrie Bradshaw who runs around New York City in Manolo Blahniks like they’re going out of style, they hurt after a few hours! There are insoles to help with blisters and heel savers to stop those from sinking into the ground — but on a 8+ hour day where you’re on your feet nonstop, you want to be comfortable! Especially if you’re getting married in Washington, DC or any other major city where a bit of walking will be required. So what’s the solution? Well, the title was probably a giveaway, but two pairs of shoes!

When you’re ready, it’s great to have a pair of comfortable flats available to slip on.  Myself, my second shooter, and your entire group of bridesmaids are there as your team — so we are happy to carry those comfy shoes in our bag and have them for you at the ready! I typically recommend anytime after your ceremony or first dance because most of the big events will have ended and it’s finally time to just celebrate! You don’t want to skimp on dancing due to hurt tootsies, so trust me when I say to pack an extra pair of shoes — your feet will thank you!

This Washington, DC wedding photographer always recommends brides pack 2 pairs of shoes: those fancy heels for pictures and some comfortable flats for dancing!
