Ritz Carlton Washington, DC Wedding

Heather and Bernie were married this October in black-tie Washington, DC wedding at the Ritz-Carlton that made my classic-loving heart melt. It was an absolutely stunning affair, to the point that I actually heard guests gasp as they walked into the room. As a Washington, DC wedding photographer, I have the privilege of seeing both sides of a wedding day; everything from the beautiful decorations and perfect cake that was prepared for the guests to the moments that don’t unfold exactly as planned.

I think it’s safe to say that almost every wedding day experiences at least a small hitch. You can work tirelessly in the months leading up to the big day, but even with the best intentions, some things are just out of your control. And the test of a wedding day is how you deal with those challenges. I truly cannot think of a better couple to deal with a wedding day challenge than this sweet couple. When the ceremony got delayed, leaving us with little daylight for portraits, instead of being upset, they simply helped me facilitate the time we had left to ensure we maximized it with their wedding party. They made the best of every moment together, smiling nonstop and laughing the entire day. And don’t worry, a “day after” session is in order this December to get these two the couples portraits they deserve at one of our iconic DC monuments!!

Heather and Bernie, I am incredibly grateful we were connected this time last year and am legitimately sad that your wedding day is over. In a way, I’m actually glad things worked out the way they did because now we have the opportunity to catch up post-honeymoon! I hope you’re having a great time in Dubai, Seychelles, and Italy and I can’t wait to see you in just a few weeks!
