I remember being a bride like it was yesterday. You put so much of yourself into planning for this big, beautiful day with your friends and family and then before you know it, it’s over in an instant. It may sound silly, but you almost mourn the loss of the thing that consumed your life for the past 12-18 months. It’s become such a big part of your everyday life that you don’t know what to do without it. Thankfully, you have a wonderful life to start with your spouse and hopefully an equally amazing honeymoon to enjoy together which takes your mind off it as you transition to post-wedding life.
One of the other big things that helped was when my wedding was published! Wedding blogs were around, but hadn’t taken off quite as much as they have today so the big thing to showcase weddings were magazines (I was only married in 2011 but things change quickly!). Mine was accepted in Virginia Bride Magazine and I recall answering every question with excitement and the anticipation of waiting for the issue’s publication date.
Knowing how amazing of a feeling that was, as a Washington, DC wedding photographer, I always want to try to do the same for my brides. With so many gorgeous weddings these days, that isn’t always possible as it’s a very competitive market. But Brittany and Ryan’s Outer Banks wedding at Duck Woods Country Club was such a stunner that I knew it needed to be showcased somewhere special! As fate would have it, Virginia Bride Magazine was just the place.
The Winter 2017 issue was just released a few weeks ago and I, again, was anxious to get my hands on a copy (or three!). Reliving their wedding day was such a joy and brought back incredible memories. A huge thank you to the wonderful VA Bride Magazine for this spectacular feature!
