The Fount Collective: Charleston, SC Session | Featured


As a Washington, DC wedding photographer, my business naturally tends to focus on newly engaged couples who are about to embark on a journey toward marriage. Additionally, over the past two years or so, I have been incorporating couples that are celebrating anniversaries as this is something very near and dear to my heart (Rob and I have been doing these every year since 2012!). That all being said, it’s not often I find myself having the privilege to capture motherhood. There are so many incredible photographers that focus on this aspect of life, from maternity, to birth, newborns, and even growing families. With so many unique genres of photography out there, I truly think it’s important to specialize so you can be the best within your chosen field and for me, that’s couples. But I’ve slowly come to realize that couples celebrating an anniversary are no different than those that are about to celebrate the birth of their first child. While the beautiful Ann opted for a solo shoot that simply focused on her connection with her son, it felt no different than shooting a bride alone on her wedding day; it was just a quite moment to enjoy what is about to unfold.
